Fitness is rather like a jigsaw puzzle, many different pieces make up the complete picture.
If any one of these pieces is missing, Diet included, the picture remains incomplete and you will not be able to fully develop as a footballer. A good diet will help you train hard, avoid injury and illness and enjoy a long and healthy career.
Professional footballers choose their foods wisely and with the guidelines provided, you can do the same.
Does the following daily food intake sound familiar ?
- Get up too late so had no time for breakfast
- Felt tired all day
- Bought a chocolate bar and a bag of crisps on the way to school.
- Chose a cheeseburger with chips for lunch and filled up with some biscuits.
- Drank a can of fizzy pop.
- Arrived home extremely hungry but had training in a couple of hours.
- Ate a few more biscuits and another chocolate bar.
- Had no energy at all for training !
